User Experience Designer

The User Experience Designer is responsible for crafting intuitive and user-friendly websites. They will conduct research to understand user needs and behaviors, design interfaces, and test prototypes to ensure a seamless and satisfying user experience. As the agency subject matter expert and thought leader, you will help agency peers understand how to integrate the strategies and techniques of experience design into the work they’re currently doing. The User Experience Designer may also collaborate with team members in creating other non-web digital or non-digital experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft consistent and engaging digital experiences that accomplish clients’ business objectives
  • Develop strategies to understand user behavior and test usability alongside our in-house marketing research team.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in the user experience design network
  • Advocate for experience design across the agency’s work, both digital and traditional, and articulate the value of a user design experience mindset
  • All other projects and tasks as assigned

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Deep understanding of state-of-the-art user experience best practices
    • Ability to strategically navigate differing demands of digital and traditional user experiences
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain user experience concepts to non-technical team members and clients
    • Understanding of object-oriented design and development
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Experience working in a collaborative environment
    • Must be a self-starter: quick learner, intuitive and proactive.
    • Agility with the changing technological landscape
    • Experience with broad range of tools to communicate design approaches: whiteboarding, wireframes, patterns, etc.
    • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud and similar tools
    • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
    • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and web development processes 

      Education and Experience:

      • At least five years of relevant experience
      • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, or related field
      • Graphic design experience
      • UX Certification, such as HFI or Neilsen Norman, is preferred

        Other Requirements:

        • Minimal travel may be required (1-2 times per year).
